Options Trading Blogs

There are a number of options trading blogs on the world-wide web that feature conservative options selling methods. These are excellent venues for additional learning. In many of them, the author keeps a trading journal highlighting the conservative option trades he or she makes. Almost always they provide a rationale for their trades. And some of these sites provide details of the author’s trading plan and overall trading philosophy.

Here are a number that I have culled from the blogosphere that I like…my own “options blog roll” as it were. I recommend you investigate them:

Covered Call Advisor This actively updated blog is published by Jeff Partlow, whose investing motto is “stick with covered calls”. His blog aims to demonstrate that with a well-managed covered calls portfolio, folks can achieve market-beating returns. He posts his trades, provides his rationale and tracks his performace. He also includes an extensive selection of reading material describing his techniques.

My Covered Call Blog This blog serves as the trading journal covering the covered-call portfolio of the “ccwriter”. Trade information is posted when positions are established, adjusted and closed. Returns are posted at each option expiration. In addition to posting the details of his trades, the blog also provides commentaries, returns, and the details of his trading plan.

MoneyRunner51 A relative newcomer to the blog scene, this blog is a journal of the author’s thoughts and experiences concerning investing in general, and the writing of covered call options & cash secured put options in particular. His goals and objectives are well presented. He also has discussions on the virtues of patience and discipline in the conservative options techniques he employs.

ETF Covered Calls Here’s a blog that covers ETF covered calls. It may appeal to the readership of this website as ETF’s are considered to be potentially conservative vehicles to use in covered-call and cash-secured put writing. Have a look at this extensively documented site.

Stock Planner A blog that focuses on stock management tips with useful insights and examples of covered calls. The bloglist and favorite links section is a great collection of sites unto itself.
