Financial Blogs
Financial blogs are closely allied to “traditional” financial websites. Both have information about financial matters. The difference is that blogs are updated more frequently, and thus current information on breaking trends or changes in the financial environment is updated regularly. There is a lot more editorial content on blogs as well. Sometimes it is good to step back and consider the financial perspective of others. As you peruse the financial blogosphere, you will find sites that resonate with you. As you might expect, there are some real gems available that you might consider bookmarking and checking regularly. Then, of course, there are a lot of very poor financial blogs as well.
I’ve tried to handpick for you the few that I really like. These have helped me shape my views of the financial landscape, and have assisted me, therefore, in placing safe options trades and in other financial matters. Have a look at these:
Between The Hedges
A self-described “Portfolio Managers commentary on investing and trading in the U.S. financial markets”, this is a blog that I refer to frequently, usually in the morning before the market opens. This blog comments on the stock movers of the day, key financial headlines from numerous global sources, and important financial updates. Their links to news sources, trading links, and financial sites is a treasure trove unto itself.
Seeking Alpha
In their own words, “Seeking Alpha is the premier website for actionable stock market opinion and analysis, and vibrant, intelligent finance discussion“. A veritable font of information and articles, you can learn much about the markets in general by a periodic reading of this site. Again to quote from their site: “Seeking Alpha differs from other finance sites because it focuses on opinion and analysis rather than news, and is primarily written by investors who describe their personal approach to stock picking and portfolio management, rather than by journalists”.
Cara Community
Run by Bill Cara, this is a site providing perspectives and insights into the economy and capital marketplace. The blog is strong on technical evaluation of stocks, markets, economies and financial trends. The “Morning Call” is a daily read for me.
Trader Feed
Dr. Brett Steenbarger, creator of this blog, is an intelligent, sharing, and savvy source for financial and trading matters. His blog is a compendium on broad market commentary, and the psychology of market participants. I read this blog several times a week and never leave without learning something.
Become Your Own Trading Coach
Also published by Dr. Brett, this blog has as one of its principal objectives to help participants in the financial markets with their psychology and their trading. An extensive list of readings is available that will benefit those active in the financial markets.
ImperalisFinance
Imperalis Finance is a premier site for interesting, opinionated articles and videos on the latest economic issues from all over the globe. This site will provide you with an independent look at global financial trends and help in formulating ideas for safe option trades.
Five Cent Nickel
This blog is not about options, trading or investing. Instead, it is about personal finance, saving your pennies (and nickels), and living in a financially frugal manner. In order to be successful in the markets, you must not waste your dollars. This blog will help you with numerous ideas and tips.
