Perhaps his best known book is The Psychology of Trading. In it Dr. Brett reviews “Tools and Techniques for Minding the Market”. As he states: “Successful market participants seek out their weaknesses and learn when they fail. Unsuccessful ones avoid their shortcomings and, thus, fail to learn.” He advocates that all traders should activate and befriend their “Internal Observer” by being always mindful of what they are doing in the marketplace by “watching yourself watch yourself” as you trade. Good traders become good as they “transform their approach to risk and reward.”
